First Spanish final in Champions League history. Kirill Dementyev recalls Cooper’s gorgeous “Valencia” – Podcasts – Blogs

In the 1999/00 Champions League final, for the first time in the history of the tournament, two Spanish teams met: Real Madrid and Valencia. Despite the fact that Real was in crisis that season (only fifth in La Liga), Madrid won the final with confidence. But Hector Cooper’s Valencia was also remembered by everyone who followed football at the time.

One of the main Russian commentators of Spanish football, Kirill Dementyev, recalls the time when there were more than two contenders for the title in the Spanish championship, and calls Gaiska Mendieta one of the best players in Europe. And also remember the failure of CSKA with Molde and the heel of Fernando Redondo.

We also prepare a themed music playlist for each episode. When you hear the same Britney Spears song and Eminem’s rap, you will definitely remember what you did in 2000.
