Davison Figueiredu: “I dedicate this victory to my grandfather”

UFC Flyweight Champion Davison Figueiredo (19-1) spoke about the last rematch with Joseph Benavides (28-7).

“It was a tough week, I had to go through a lot to be here in Abu Dhabi, but now I feel amazing. I finally got the belt. I am very glad that I did not disappoint my Brazilian and American friends. I promised to win the belt and I did it.

I practically did not make any changes to my camp, did not try to change the coaching staff, because my coaches are real professionals in their field. I knew Benavides could be easily sent to the floor as he falls through heavily when attacked, and I took advantage of that.

My grandfather is a special person in my life. He is no longer among the living, but I believe that he is still watching me. He always wanted me to touch this belt, so I dedicate my victory to him, ”concluded Figueiredo.
